Pimple Popping: Good or Bad?

Pimple Popping: Good or Bad?

Pimple Popping: Good or Bad?
How many of you have resisted the temptation of popping that spot? You might have heard that it’s the best & quickest way to get rid of pimples. You might have one of the videos which teach you the “right way of popping pimples”. Tried doing it & succeeded as well. Momentarily that is. Because the next thing you know, they are back there again looking more fierce than ever!!!
The funny part is pimples happen at such age wherein you never want them to happen. Young age boys looking at girls & girls looking at boys, only thing which comes between them is pimple. All friends making fun of the mountain, neighborhood uncles getting an update about your changing hormones & aunties and elders researching & experimenting on you. Because of all this one cannot resist the temptation of touching, squeezing & scratching it away because there nothing one can do. On a serious note all the things will make your pimples look even worse. Scratching, touching, squeezing instigates pimples & makes more reddish, bigger in size & on the verge of explosion like volcano.
One should understand that whenever we try to pop pimples it not gonna disapper so why pop? Always remember the first rule in your daily cleansing “DO NOT TOUCH”. If by any chance they explode & it makes you happy because you think it’s over, it’s not, all you will get is pain. One should resist the inquisitiveness to see what’s inside your pimple mountain its only dead cells, pus, oil & micro-organism.
Very important when we pop the lining of skin is torn & this gives an opportunity to all the micro-organism to enter your skin & increase the infection & may also lead to scar formation. Scars are permanent, more rigid & difficult to heal making skin look irregular.
Pimple popping increasing scar formation chances by multiple fold. Only a lasor treatment or chemical peeling can reduce your scar. Scar treatment procedure is more costly with unpredictable results.
Second rule which very few people apply is to visit a dermatologist who spends years & years only studying about skin. I guess people are either not aware about this specialization or they think it’s not cool to go to doctor because they know more.
Third rule to avoid pimples is by keeping skin oil free by frequent facewash. Research has shown that people with oily skin are more prone to acne than people with dry skin. Frequent washing of face also keeps dust & pollution at bay & doesn’t allow them to block the pores.
A good daily cleansing regime can negate the chances of pimple popping. Which include deep skin cleansing with facewash, use of anti acne products. Also one should avoid use of harsh chemicals on face, home remedies & high pH soap bars. Lastly one needs to make skin smooth & soft with the help of moisturizer.
So the take home message is very simple pimple popping is bad for health. It will only worsen the acne and nothing else. Follow a good cleansing routine. Don’t punish your skin with harsh cosmetics & soap bars with high pH. Consult a good dermatologist & stay healthy.
